On March 6th we held progress meeting of the Brain Control Club at CRI. We were happy to be joined by the GameLab and by three students from the interdisciplinary program on education technology who were interested in finding ways to include neuroscience in their exciting projects. The slides of the presentations can be found on SlideShare here and here.
The meeting was called for a couple of reasons:
- We need to make sure we share our knowledge between projects.
- We have to publicly show that we are an active community.
- It is helpful to reflect on what has already been accomplished and how to best go forward.
- Projects and their obstructions need to be presented in a way so that they can best gather the insights of the audience and external mentors.
- We need to have public meetings to which CRI/external people can attend and get an idea of what we are doing (make them enthusiastic) without burdening ourselves with extra work.
Every group presented a 15 minutes presentation including:
- Description of the project
- Breakdown of the project into steps
- Current status
- Past obstacles – how did you overcome them? What can we learn from them?
- Future obstacles – which ones can be anticipate?
I also presented recent advances on the EEGsynth relevant for the Brain Control Club, and presented a new project with Liburn Jupolli on brain-based music composition and performance.
